| 1999 | better late...than never | reel2real - rrcd199 | leer brothers band |
During the period 1970-1976 the band recorded tracks at different studios where recording engineer friends would allow them to use the studios during cancellations and down time. The result was an amazing number of original songs that were never released. The tapes were digitalized in 1993 and the BETTER LATE… THAN NEVER CD is the result.
The Leer Brothers Band may have been the best four man group playing original material that ever came out of northeastern Pennsylvania. Listen closely to these 14 original songs that are 30 years old and judge for yourself whether or not this group was ahead of its time! The songs sound as if they were recorded yesterday.
"THE LEER BROTHERS BAND WAS FORMED WHEN THEIR PREVIOUS BANDS, THE RHYTHM BLUES AND THE RHYTHM ACES WITH MEL WYNN, JOINED FORCES. MEL WYNN STEPPED OUT OF THE BUSINESS FOR A WHILE AND THEN CAME BACK WITH THE MEL WYNN TREND, TURNING TO THE LEER BROTHERS FOR INSTRUMENTAL BACKING."
